LEARNING FRENCH

Good knowledge of French is essential for your proper integration during your stay. We recommend that non-French-speaking scientists and spouses learn French as soon as possible, ideally prior to their arrival in France. Indeed, acquiring French-language skills will facilitate your meeting people, speed up your integration and allow you to better understand your new living environment.

The Espace Ulys assists you in your learning of French and can recommend several language-instruction options for beginning learners starting upon your arrival in France.

In any case, please note that any international researcher/PhD student registered on the EURAXESS database can benefit from the partnership between the Alliance française network and the French EURAXESS network: 10% discount on the tuition fees for some classes at the Alliance française de Lyon. More information on the FnAK website.
