What is the universe made of ? How did it start ? Physicists at CERN are seeking answers, using some of the world's most powerful particle accelerators !
The Métropole de Lyon and espace Ulys go on with their 2017-2018 socio-economic visits programme: in January 2018, we bring you to Switzerland for a unique visit of the CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, where physicists and engineers use the world's largest and most complex instruments to study the basic constituents of matter.
Monday 8th January 2018, from 11am to 7.30pm.
The visit itself will last 3 hours and will be held in English.
Provisional programme :
11h: departure from Lyon
13h45: arrival at CERN
14h-17h: guided tour in English
17h15: departure from CERN
19h30: arrival to Lyon
No food will be provided. Please bring your own snack if needed.
Number of seats is limited. International researchers and PhD students only : no accompanying person will be authorized. Thank you for your understanding.
IMPORTANT: since we will cross the border you must have a valid residence permit auhorizing you to travel in the Schengen area. If in doubt, check with espace Ulys.
